Last week I attended a virtual conference for audiobook narrators hosted by Pink Flamingo Productions. For two days dozens of us met on zoom to listen to panelists talk about the ins and outs of the audiobook industry and narration.
It was my first time attending a conference with other narrators and I was so thrilled to be able to meet and connect with so many wonderful individuals. As a narrators we spend so much time alone in our booths that it can be an isolating and lonely profession but conferences and book events are a way for us to reconnect with each other and remember that we are part of a larger community that is so supportive and welcoming.
The panels that touched upon personal and professional development were enlightening and inspiring. I walked away with a renewed sense of commitment to myself and my career and an understanding that all areas of your life deserve attention and growth in order to thrive.
