Why I love romance:
I read a lot books in my spare time and run a book club for fun. I've always loved escaping into stories, but like many, I didn't fall in love with romance lit until I was an adult. Growing up in a religion that taught me to suppress and hide parts of myself, it wasn't until I had grown up, and was living on my own, that the scales fell from my eyes. I finally felt free to be curious and quickly discovered, through the power of female friendship, that romance books would become a liberating safe space space for me with the most open and accepting community attached to it.
Romance books are designed to make you feel things, and boy do they! Further, romance encompasses so many sub-genres that almost anyone can find their little own little corner. Outlander by Diana Gabledon was the first romance book I read that really challenged my perception of what a romance book could be with it's captivating setting, complex characters, and creative sci-fi/fantasy elements. Little did I know there was a whole world about to open up to me and when I discovered erotica in The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy by A.N. Roquelaure , I realized just how many endless discoveries were ahead of me. Romance and Erotica act as a gateway to a world of possibilities, a safe space to learn, and an entertaining escape from our everyday lives. -M.K. <3

"Blackwood has the perfect voice for Tinsley. A young sound, but with a bit of maturity, she gives off that confidence and vulnerability at the same time. She does play the brat convincingly and then in the next breath gives a Tinsley that is compassionate and warm." - audible review
"MK Blackwood gives us the array of emotions that Jasmine goes through, from dealing with her ex, the fear of losing her child along with the guilt she feels and the passion ignited with Walker. It's a great performance and enjoyable listen." - audible review
